Accounts Assistant – Temp to perm – Canary Wharf

My client, a start-up tech business based in Canary Wharf, is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant on a temp to perm basis. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly growing business with fantastic career prospects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Raising invoices in a timely manner
  • Managing an invoice schedule
  • Obtaining purchase order numbers
  • Managing aging receivables and chasing late payments
  • Managing accounts payable/purchases and making payments
  • Checking staff expenses and implementing expenses policy
  • Processing payments in accordance with agreed terms
  • Timely VAT submissions
  • Bookkeeping and journal entries US and UK in Xero (when required)
  • Reporting in to the Finance Manager (and from time to time Director of Finance/Other stakeholders)

Key skills:

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or AAT qualified with strong industry experience)
  • Wants to progress further within finance as the department/business grows
  • Experience in a multi-currency environment
  • Group accounting experience
  • Xero certified (ideal requirement not essential)
  • Ability to automate processes and balances
