Senior Director - Strategic Initiatives - Competitive salary plus bonus & benefits - Central London

My client, a global healthcare company based in Central London, is looking to recruit a Senior Director - Strategic Initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering strategic initiatives by setting up value targets, outlining the roadmap for execution, proving the concept and embedding the concept into overall business. In this role, the individual will lead and support high priority and value projects related to company's sourcing model, market analysis, emerging industry trends, portfolio analysis, and identification of strategic and enterprise needs.

  • Previous or current Management Consulting experience preferred

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Strategy team and the business to translate vision into strategic initiatives
  • Partner with Strategy, Finance and Analytics to develop targets for strategic initiatives
  • Develop robust tracking mechanism to regularly report on the progress of all initiatives
  • Develop robust understanding of the current state, including key value drivers
  • Articulate areas of opportunity and improvement, detailing out the future state
  • Develop business case for change, aligning the leadership team on the future vision
  • Work with finance and analytics to establish analytical frameworks and conduct
  • complex business analyses
  • Partner with and guide Analytics team to develop the tools for sizing the prize and for tracking results delivery
  • Partner with Analytics team to identify, scope and prioritise high value use cases, providing strategic and delivery support
  • Develop project structure and roadmap to execution
  • Deliver effective project management with regular and timely reporting of results
  • Develop and build capabilities and organization to deliver vision and targeted results
  • Partner with the business stakeholder to execute and operationalize the projects to deliver financial value to the business
  • Facilitate business problem solving through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesised insights leading to recommendations to senior management
  • Conduct external research/data gathering and analysis

Key skills:

  • Previous or current Management Consulting experience desirable
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - MBA preferred but not essential
  • Understanding of financial modelling and experience with financial planning, budgeting and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value
  • Evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities
  • Ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
  • Previous experience ideally within consulting, business development or strategy preferably within the healthcare or consumer industries or relevant industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organisation, promote ideas and proposals persuasively
  • Knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare/pharmaceutical preferred
